More than 1,400 South Mississippi students quarantined last week, new report shows

October 19, 2020, Sun Herald – The Mississippi State Department of Health reported 795 new cases and 7 deaths on Thursday. In the six southern counties, 161 cases were reported with one new death in Hancock County.The department also updated their school COVID-19 report for the week of Oct. 12-16 that shows 842 school reporting cases in 79 of Mississippi’s 82 counties. George County has 92 students in quarantine from elementary to high school last week. George County High School has 37 students out. The Rebels’ football team went into quarantine earlier this week, forfeiting their next two games. View Story.
